Strengthening Democratic Resilience in the Age of AI

As a 2024 International Strategy Forum Fellow with Schmidt Futures, Co-Director Yi-Ting Lien participated in the International Strategy Forum (ISF) Global Summit in Seoul, hosted by SCSP and the Korea Foundation, as well as the Fellowship’s thematic convening in Tallinn, Estonia, where she spoke on “The Future of Resilient Democratic Societies.”

The discussion explored the critical risks and opportunities facing democracies following the global elections of 2024 — including political polarization, digital authoritarianism, AI governance, and the growing challenge of protecting public trust in the digital age. Yi-Ting shared perspectives from Taiwan on how democratic societies can leverage emerging technologies to strengthen civic participation, safeguard fundamental freedoms, and improve public service delivery while countering anti-democratic forces online.

Tech For Good Asia was also honored to receive support from the ISF Impact Fund, which will help advance its work on digital democratic engagement, civic technology, and inclusive approaches to AI governance across the region.
